Mirror Tile
With the exception of the flat silver mirror, all of our mirrors are Spectrum® SilverCoats®. Mirrored Waterglass has a wavy texture on the front of the glass, and is smooth on the back. The mirror backing on the SilverCoat® is thick and heavy duty.
Mirrored tiles are a great way to add flash and sparkle to your mosaic project. Visit our gallery to see some truly impressive uses for our mirror tiles. Kitchen backsplashes, mirror tile covered walls and fireplaces are popular. Maybe you should make that mirror covered disco ball you always wanted.
Mirror tiles are perfect for picture frames, mirror frames, lamp bases, and other projects that benefit from the reflectivity of mirrors without the need for backlighting. Ornaments and jewelry boxes also benefit from the bright flash of colored mirrors.
Mirrors require a little extra care. Try to avoid grinding the edges of the mirror, and Spectrum recommends spraying the back and cut edges of mirrors with shellac. We have found that the Weldbond we use is enough to seal the back and edges. If you are going to embed the mirrors in concrete, such as a stepping stone, it is a good idea to either spray the back and edges with shellac, or coat the edges with a thin coat of Weldbond. This will help keep your mosaic art project shiny and beautiful for many, many years.
